The answer to that question is yes, at least according to Vick. During an interview on the Dan Patrick Show, Vick sounded pretty confident that he could beat Colin Kaepernick or Robert Griffin III or any other NFL quarterback in a footrace.
"These guys are young, and they're fast, and they're quick. The thing I do have is a very quick get-off, my burst," Vick said. "I really don't feel like there's a quarterback in the league that can beat me in the 40-yard dash. If somebody wants to set something up, I'll be more than glad to accept the challenge. But, as of right now, I'm going to say me. But Colin Kaepernick is fast, and RG3 is fast as well."
Vick ran a 4.33 40 at the 2001 NFL Combine and thinks he can still run a time close to that, "After racing LeSean and how I feel, I still think I run about a 4.4," Vick said.
A 4.4 40-time would put the 32-year-old neck-and-neck with Kaepernick, who was timed at 4.53 during the 2011 combine and has been timed as a fast as 4.43. However, Vick might have a tough time beating a healthy RG3, who has been timed as fast as 4.33, according to NFLDraftScout.com.
If this imaginary race is limited to quarterbacks who started at least one game in 2012, then Oakland's Terrelle Pryor might have a shot at winning, too. Pryor, who started one game for the Raiders last season, has been timed as low as 4.32. However, even Pryor thinks Vick would win, telling NBC Sports in March, "I believe I'd be second behind Michael Vick. No one else could beat me."
