When your season is on the line, you should lean on Dave Richard, Jamey Eisenberg and Nathan Zegura for fantasy football advice. But you should also keep an eye out for other potential sources of important fantasy information.
Like, oh, I don't know, Steve Urkel's Twitter feed.
Jaleel White, who played Urkel on Family Matters, is reaching a conclusion that doesn't seem all that uncommon in the past few days: Patriots tight end Jake Ballard could potentially end up having a decent year.
This logic stems from the recent injuries that Rob Gronkowski suffered along with the legal issues that Aaron Hernandez is dealing with at the moment. There's no telling how either situation actually plays out, but it's not unreasonable to hypothesize that Ballard could see more targets next year, even though he's been limping around Pats training camp so far this year.
But the better portion of this story involves the back-and-forth between White/Urkel and USA Today's Mike Garafolo. Garafolo noted Ballard actually retweeted White's comment, correctly pointing out it's the absolute bottoming out of the NFL offseason.
6/19/13 3:47 pm: Jake Ballard retweets Steve Urkel telling him he'll have a big year. We've officially reached ridiculous offseason levels.— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) June 19, 2013
This made Urkel angry and you won't like Steve Urkel when he's angry.
Or maybe you will -- he also called out Garafolo for editing his tweets, forcing Garafolo to point out that as an ex-Giants beat writer he's penned a fountain of kind words about Ballard.
Fortunately, the two appear to have made up. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to try and find Dustin Diamond so I can figure out what he thinks about Michael Hoomanawanui's prospects for 2013.
