Report: Giants LB Dan Connor arrested in Philly airport

By Josh Katzowitz | NFL Writer

Giants linebacker Dan Connor was arrested at the airport in Philadelphia on Saturday morning and charged with possession of an offensive weapon, according to reports from the NBC and ABC affiliates.

Connor reportedly was carrying a switchblade inside his luggage, and a TSA officer spotted it in an x-ray machine. That's when Philadelphia police were called, and he was arrested about 9 a.m.

He was later released from custody on his own recognizance.

The 27-year-old Connor spent his first four years in the NFL with the Panthers before recording 56 tackles in eight starts last season for the Cowboys. He signed with the Giants in March, and he's expected to compete for the middle linebacker job with Mark Herzlich.
