Darnell Dockett wants to bring his pet tiger to training camp

By Ryan Wilson | CBSSports.com

Because, really, what every training camp needs is Darnell Dockett's pet tiger. (USATSI)
Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett is, well, interesting. Whether it's a Twitter slapfight with fellow Florida St. alum Chris Rix, or awkward Twitter interactions with Katherine Webb, Dockett has a lot going on. So it's not altogether surprising to find out that he's now the new owner of … a tiger.

The tiger's name? Little Buddy, of course. And Dockett would like to bring Little Buddy to the Cardinals training camp to meet the players and fans. (Because, really, that would be a fantastic idea.)

“I'm trying to bring him to training camp,” Dockett told Fox Sports 910 (via PFT). “I don't know if they'll let me, but we're going to see.”

The tiger currently weighs 60 pounds but Dockett describes him as “very chill, very playful.” How long Little Buddy maintains that sunny disposition is solely up to Little Buddy. (Apparently, Tigers can get up to 500 pounds.)

Dockett also revealed that he made an offer on a $30,000 monkey but the monkey's current owner wasn't interested.

“I didn't buy the pet monkey,” Dockett said. “The dude would not sell it. I offered him a price that the only other person who would offer him that much is probably Michael Jackson, rest in peace, but he wouldn't even entertain my offer when it came to the monkey.”

In related news: We have no idea why athletes go broke. It's certainly not because they waste money on things like, say, $30,000 monkeys.

Dockett also weighed in on Chris Johnson and Devin Hester's plans to race a cheetah.

"I don't care who wants to race a cheetah. There's no human on this earth that can run faster than a cheetah," said Dockett, who currently owns a Tiger that, when fully grown, will be able to reach speeds of 35 mph. (Usain Bolt, by comparison, maxed out at 27 mph. We're guessing Dockett is a tad slower than that.)

Here's to hoping Dockett wears this when kickin' it with Little Buddy.
