Before Ozzie Newsome was the Baltimore Ravens general manager, he was the team's vice president of pro personnel in charge of the draft.

During the Ravens first NFL Draft in 1996, then-owner Art Modell wanted to take Nebraska running back Lawrence Phillips, however, Newsome insisted on someone else: UCLA offensive lineman Jonathan Ogden.

Newsome got his way and now 17 years later, he'll share the stage with Ogden at the 2013 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony. The two won't just be sharing the stage either: Newsome will be presenting Ogden at the ceremony.

"I chose Ozzie because he brought me into Baltimore, and I respect him and worked well together," Ogden said, via ESPN.com. "I could also go talk to him and be honest with him. He's just one of the people who I just really respect in the business. It just kind of made sense to me."

After being selected fourth overall, Ogden would go on to play his entire 12-year career in Baltimore. Ogden's lengthy career included 11 Pro Bowl appearances and a Super Bowl win in 2000. The 38-year-old was also named first-team All-Pro four times.

As for Modell, he seemed to get over not drafting Phillips, "Ozzie sure made the right pick as the first drafted player in Ravens history. We could not have made a better choice," the Ravens now-deceased former owner said in 2008.

The 2013 Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on Aug. 3 in Canton, Ohio.
