Sometimes work interferes with family, and Brandon Carr's day job as the Cowboys' starting cornerback almost got in the way of him seeing the birth of his first son, Austin. After arriving at LAX with his teammates on Monday following the Hall of Fame game, Carr repacked and headed back to the airport when he learned that his fiancé had gone into labor. Unable to make it in time, Carr ended up watching the birth on FaceTime.
"I saw everyting I needed to see," he said, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "I saw it all. Technology is wonderful these days. Sometimes you can't control what's going to happen. You've just got to go with the flow. I made the most of it."
After missing two days to be with his family, Carr returned to practice Thursday.
"No sleep at all, but I wouldn't want it any other way," he said. "It was a good feeling to be there and actually see your first son. I'm still trying to gather my thoughts and bring it all in. The last two days have been good. It's a blessed feeling."
