Andy Reid on Jamaal Charles: There's a chance he practices Tues.

Over the weekend I made the argument to a friend that Jamaal Charles was a strong candidate to end up as the No. 1 scoring running back in all of fantasy football this year. So you should blame me, I guess, for the jinx that resulted in Charles being carted off from Chiefs practice with a leg injury Monday morning.

The good news is that it appears Charles injury isn't serious. There's the commentary below and the updated news from Chiefs coach Andy Reid that Charles only suffered a foot sprain and that X-rays were negative.

Teicher then tweeted that Charles was carted off the field. This is standard operating procedure: everyone who suffers any sort of injury in training camp is carted off. So panic shouldn't erupt as a result of the cart being involved.

Additionally, Matt Miller of Bleacher Report confirms what Teicher indicated saying that the injury isn't believed to be serious.

Later in the day, Chiefs general manager John Dorsey called the injury "more precautionary than anything."

"It is a foot strain," Dorsey said during a Sirius XM interview (via Arrowhead Pride) ... "I think sometimes when you have a player of the magnitude of Jamaal Charles things do get magnified a little bit. It's more precautionary. We understand what he is and what value he does have for this team. Right now everything is good.

"But yeah you hold your breath every time," Dorsey continued. "People don't realize the practice that Andy runs, it's a really hard practice. What he does is conditions the human body to play in the games and I think that speaks volumes. If you look -- knock on wood -- our injuries have been very minimal here, little strains and soft tissues but nothing of major consequence."

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that "privately ... a couple of people" in the Chiefs organization are "concerned" about Charles' injury, but coach Andy Reid suggested that the team's most dynamic player could return to practice Tuesday.
