Giants S Antrel Rolle leaves practice on cart after injury

By Ryan Wilson | CBSSports.com

Giants safety Antrel Rolle was carted off the practice field Monday after suffering a right foot injury, according to several reporters on the scene.

After practice, coach Tom Coughlin had little in the way of details.

"It was obviously bothering him," Coughlin said, via the Newark Star-Ledger. "So he'll get checked out. He must have -- they step on each others feet, you know? It's like a rebound drill. Honestly I didn't even see it until I looked over and he was sitting down. ...

"The guy got up and left the field, that's all I know," the coach said, indicating that Rolle would have an MRI.

There's no timetable on when Rolle will return to practice but Coughlin added, "Hopefully, it'll be quick."

Rolle, originally drafted by the Cardinals as a cornerback, came to the Giants in 2010 where he's been a starting safety the last three seasons. He's never missed a game in his three years in New York, registering 233 tackles, 13 passes defended, five interceptions and three forced fumbles.

Tyler Sash and rookie Taylor Cooper are listed as backups behind Rolle.
