Pam Oliver takes Chandler Harnish football to face before Colts-Giants

By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

Pam Oliver caught a football to the face Sunday.Heads up, Pam! (YouTube.com)

Pam Oliver, FOX's NFL sideline reporter, is a pro's pro. And if you don't believe me, just take a look at the way she handled getting hit in the face by a football on TV Sunday night.

Oliver, doing pregame work on the sideline before Colts-Giants, was the victim of an errant (?) throw by Indianapolis backup-to-the-backup quarterback Chandler Harnish.

The result was a football to the FACE.

There's a major different in this situation and the one involving NFL Network's Ian Rapoport last year. First of all, firing at "RapSheet" was intentional. Secondly, Pam didn't flinch as much as Ian. Third, Pam actually got hit hard. And four, it's unlikely that Rapoport got a public apology from the person who winged him.

Oliver certainly did, even if it was only on Twitter.

That's really nice of Harnish, but he should probably start worrying about making the team if he's going to be that inaccurate in warmups.
