The city of Mankato is damn proud that it has hosted Minnesota's training camp for nearly 50 years, and to show its thanks, the good citizens of Mankato filmed this adorably cringeworthy tribute to their beloved Vikings.
Set to the charming Midwestern classic “Parking Lot Party” by Lee Brice (haven't heard of it? Your loss), it's tough to watch “Kato-wide Party” and not feel bad for Vikings fans. The citywide effort was tremendous, but the execution was particularly painful.
One memorable riff from the Kato-version:
“There ain't no city like this city, there ain't no team as good as we are, it's a Kato-wide party.”
On the plus side, the video features a cameo from Vikings coach Leslie Frazier, a spot appearance from a storm trooper, and depicts a somewhat inexplicable building demolition. In short, it's the only we'd ever expect Mankatoans to thank their team.
If nothing else, I'd expect this attempt at a viral video to spawn a ton of top-notch fantasy names.
