Report: Former Titan Keith Bulluck arrested, facing robbery charge

Former Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck was arrested earlier Sunday morning and is facing felony robbery charges after he allegedly took money from a cab driver, according to a report from News Channel 5.

Details of the alleged altercation, via WSMV:

The driver told police a man had given him money to wait outside of Blue Jeans Bar. As the driver was putting his money away, Bulluck allegedly reached through the open passenger window, grabbed the driver by his shirt, and took a $100 bill out of his stack of cash.

According to court documents, the driver told police Bulluck hit him at some point during the confrontation. When police got to the scene, the driver's shirt was torn.

The driver led police to Bulluck in a parking lot on Church Street. Officers say Bulluck had two $100 bills. One of the bills was taken as evidence.

And more on the cab driver, identified as 39-year-old Habib Hashi, via the Tennessean:

Hashi claimed to have been involved in a similar incident in 2007 involving state Sen. Ophelia Ford. Hashi at the time told The Tennessean that, as he picked up Ford from the Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville, she grabbed his shirt, tearing a shirt button and then cursed at him. There is no evidence in court records or newspaper archives that Hashi pursued charges in the 2007 incident, despite his insistence at the time that he would.

Hashi was also convicted in 1999 of filing a false accident report, according to Davidson County court records.

Bulluck, who officials say may have been intoxicated, was arrested and booked around 4:30 a.m., but has since posted bond and been released.

In a statement obtained by the Tennessean, Bulluck said that poor communication was the culprit.

“I was out with friends last night in Nashville and was taking a cab home,” Bulluck said. “There was a misunderstanding between me and the cab driver about getting my money back for a service not rendered. At 2 a.m., things could easily get lost in translation, but regardless of who was right or wrong, I regret putting myself in that situation.”

Bulluck was the Titans 2000 first-round pick, and spent 10 of his 11 NFL seasons in Tennessee. He last played in 2010. On Saturday, he was part of the Titans' broadcast crew that covered the Titans-Falcons preseason game.
