Deion Sanders rips NCAA over lack of Johnny Manziel suspension

Back when rumors about Johnny Manziel avoiding a suspension for his reported autograph violations were floating around, Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant said he'd be "mad" if Manziel didn't get punished. Well, Manziel met with the NCAA and, CBSSports.com's Bruce Feldman reports, has avoided any major suspension. (He got a single half-game suspension against Rice.)

So if you happen to see Dez and have a microphone handy, you should probably inquire about that. In the meantime, would you like to hear Deion Sanders opinion?

Sanders, in case you forgot, was the reason Dez got suspended for an entire season. Well, kind of: Dez had dinner with Sanders and lied to the NCAA about it. The NCAA then docked him a whole season. Unfortunately for Dez, he wasn't a Heisman-winning quarterback of an SEC school, so the suspension stuck.

And now, understandably, he's probably cheesed off. So is Deion. So, probably, is A.J. Green, who was suspended four games for similar circumstances.

The lesson as always? The NCAA is a toothless organization dedicated to random punishments of young people who are forced to attend college because they're not allowed to enter their profession of choice before a certain age.
