We might have a plot line for the final episode of Hard Knocks.

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end DeQuin Evans has been suspended for the first eight games of the 2013 season after violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances for a second time, the league announced on Friday.

Evans also served a four-game suspension in 2011.

The 26-year-old is going into his third year with the Bengals, but has yet to see action in a regular season game. Evans played in all four Bengals preseason games this year and recorded a total of four tackles.

Evans was featured on the Aug. 27 episode of HBO's Hard Knocks. In the episode, Evans -- a native of Compton, Calif. -- explained how the game of football saved his life.

The eight-game suspension means Evans won't be eligible to return to the Bengals active-roster until Oct. 28.
