Ravens give John Harbaugh multiyear contract extension

By John Breech | CBSSports.com

What does winning a Super Bowl get you? If you're Ravens coach John Harbaugh it gets you a multiyear contract extension. Baltimore has extended Harbaugh's contract through 2016, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora has confirmed. Harbaugh's previous contract was set to expire after the 2014 season.

Before signing the extension, Harbaugh was set to make about $4 million in 2013. However, that number now jumps to nearly $7 million, according to ProFootballTalk. Harbaugh now joins the ranks of Bill Belichick, Sean Payton and Andy Reid as coaches who are believed to be in the $7 million club.

Harbaugh, who has been the Ravens coach since 2008, last signed an extension with the team in February 2011.

In five seasons as Baltimore's coach, Harbaugh has led the Ravens to the playoffs five times, to the AFC Championship Game three times and to a Super Bowl title last season.
