Report: Steelers hope to have Le'Veon Bell back in a month

The Steelers featured the league's worst running game in a Week 1 loss to the Titans, and things look to get worse before they get better. Third-down back LaRod Stephens-Howling was lost for the year when he tore his ACL, and rookie second-rounder Le'Veon Bell, who suffered a mid-foot sprain during the preseason, could be out for at least another month, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

As recently as last week, Bell sounded optimistic that he might return sooner, possibly even against the Bengals in Week 2's Monday night matchup.

Now the Steelers appear to be back where they started. When Bell was first injured on Aug. 19, CBS NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported that doctors hoped Bell could return to the field in 6-8 weeks.

While the Steelers wait on Bell they'll move forward with Isaac Redman, Felix Jones and just re-signed Jonathan Dwyer to jump-start a rushing attack that managed 32 yards last week on a mind-numbing 2.7 yards-per-carry average.

Still, despite the setback vs. Tennessee, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger remains confident in Pittsburgh's offense.

"We expect to win every game, no matter who we're playing or where we're playing," he said. "We had high expectations going into that game, but like any given Sunday, if you don't play well, you're going to get beat.”

Ben may expect to win every game, but the CBSSports.com experts are picking chalk for the home favorite Bengals this week.
