Steelers RB Isaac Redman, evaluated for concussion, returns

By Josh Katzowitz | NFL Writer

The Steelers struggling offense took another hit on the opening kickoff of the Monday night game vs. the Bengals when starting running back Isaac Redman was injured. He immediately went to the locker room with team trainers to be evaluated for a concussion, and Felix Jones got the start on offense instead of Redman.

But early in the second quarter, he was cleared by doctors, and he returned to the game.

Redman has had a rough start to the season. He fumbled twice on nine carries in Week 1 before coach Mike Tomlin benched him in the Steelers loss to the Titans.

Without Redman and with Le'Veon Bell still injured, the Steelers would have had to go the rest of the game with Jones and the recently re-signed Jonathan Dwyer.

Through three Steelers series without Redman, Jones has rushed six times for 26 yards. Dwyer has one carry for two yards.
