The Steelers backs are up against the wall as they head to London 0-3. The (also 0-3) Vikings could be part of the prescription that cures their ills and if Le'Veon Bell gets on the field it certainly wouldn't hurt.
Bell, the Steelers rookie running back who hasn't seen a regular-season snap, is slated to play for Pittsburgh in Week 4 in London, according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.
Huge news for Steelers, team is now planning to play RB Le'Veon Bell this week. Progressed faster than they thought.— Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) September 24, 2013
Glazer also reports the Steelers originally planned on "holding out through the bye" but felt that he moved along fast enough in his recovery from a foot injury.
Back in the middle of September the Steelers believed that Bell was going to miss another month of action with his foot injury. In his stead, Felix Jones has been toting the rock for the Steelers, rather unsuccessfully.
Their running game -- and offense in general -- has been anemic this season. If Bell's healthy enough to tote a full load he could be a difference maker on the offensive end of things. At this point Pittsburgh needs whatever they can get in order to try and turn things around.
