Report: QB Josh Freeman forced to watch Bucs game from suite

As expected, quarterback Josh Freeman was inactive for Sunday's Buccaneers game, a decision that came days after the team announced he had been benched for rookie third-round pick Mike Glennon.

Turns out, Tampa Bay can lose with anybody under center; they fell 13-10 to Arizona after opening up a 10-0 lead. But Freeman didn't watch the game slip away from the sidelines alongside the other inactive Bucs players. Nope, he was in a suite at Raymond James Stadium.

Coach Greg Schiano said it was a "mutual decision." In a shocking development, Freeman's agent disagreed vehemently, calling it a "lie, obviously," according to the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud.

One of the reported issues that led to Freeman's benching was that he had missed at least one team meeting this week, and this is after he missed the team photo earlier this month.

Freeman, who wants to be traded, said the news of his benching didn't go over well with teammates.

"You could tell it made some guys uncomfortable,'' he said.
