Patriots DT Vince Wilfork (ankle) questionable to return

By Josh Katzowitz | NFL Writer

Patriots nose tackle Vince Wilfork injured his ankle on the Falcons game-opening drive, and he's been taken back to the locker room on a cart. The team announced that he's questionable to return.

Wilfork appeared to step on another player's foot, and he immediately had to come out of the game (and because this occurred while the Falcons were running a hurry-up offense, the Georgia Dome littered the turf with plenty of jeers).

Wilfork had full participation in practice all week, but he also was listed on the practice reports with a foot injury.

So, what does this mean for the Patriots? It's terrible news if he can't return, because he's one of the most valuable members of the team's defense.
