If you got so excited for Matt Flynn's first start with the Raiders last week that you went out and bought a Flynn jersey, you're probably not going to like this news: Flynn isn't starting against the Chargers this week. And he might never start for the Raiders again.

Coach Dennis Allen announced on Wednesday that quarterback Terrelle Pryor is 'symptom-free' from a concussion he suffered in Week 3 and will start for Oakland on Sunday. Pryor missed last week's game against the Redskins and Flynn started in his place.

Speaking of Flynn, Allen also said that Flynn has been demoted to third string quarterback. "It is what it is, it didn't work out," Allen said, via the San Francisco Chronicle.

Flynn's free fall down the depth chart shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, Allen pinned most of the blame from Sunday's 24-14 loss to the Redskins on Flynn, "Matt didn't play well and we have to move on," Allen said after the loss.

The Raiders probably now have the most expensive third-string quarterback in the NFL: Flynn is guaranteed $6.5 million for 2013.

The demotion of Flynn means the new No. 2 quarterback in Oakland will be rookie Matt McGloin. McGloin was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Raiders in May and impressed the Oakland coaching staff throughout training camp.
