Jets tight end Kellen Winslow, who is going through something of a renaissance this season, has been suspended four games for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing substances, the NFL announced Friday afternoon.

His suspension begins immediately, and he's not eligible to return until Mon., Nov. 5.

After playing just one game last year for the Patriots and recording only one catch, he has been one of the Jets' most productive pass catchers this season, collecting a team-high 17 receptions for 169 yards and two touchdowns.

Winslow had been bothered by a knee injury this week, and he was frustrated in the Jets' win on Monday vs. the Falcons when he was targeted just once in the New York victory.

Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland, meanwhile, had a strong performance in Atlanta, and you have to think the Jets will turn to him again without Winslow in the lineup for the next month.
