Texans to know more Monday about QB Matt Schaub's leg injury

By Ryan Wilson | CBSSports.com

Inexplicably, each week is somehow worse than the one that preceded it for Texans' embattled quarterback Matt Schaub. He had thrown four straight pick-sixes coming into Sunday's game against the Rams, and word on the street was that it wouldn't take much for him to get benched for T.J. Yates.

Coach Gary Kubiak never had to pull Schaub because the 10th-year quarterback suffered a tough-to-look-at leg injury late in the third quarter that prompted some Texans' fans to cheer. (No word on whether any jerseys were burned.)

And almost as if scripted, Yates came in and -- you guessed it -- threw a pick-six on the way to a 38-13 loss, Houston's fourth in a row.

Kubiak offered this after the game regarding Schaub's prognosis: “Matt's got a little bit of everything on that one leg, so we'll take a look at it."

The team says they'll know more Monday after more tests.

If Schaub can't go next week when the Texans face the Chiefs, Kubiak could turn to Yates, undrafted Case Keenum (a fan favorite almost certainly because no one has ever seen him play in an actual NFL game) or, "I'm ready if you need me" Vince Young.
