For the second time since June, a worker at the 49ers stadium construction site has died. A 61-year-old delivery truck driver died on Monday after being crushed by a bundle of rebar he was unloading at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

The victim, whose name hasn't been released, was an employee of Gerdau Steel, a subcontractor on the stadium project. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. ET on Monday. Construction on the stadium was halted for the day.

The 49ers released a statement after the worker's death, "Our sincerest thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and co-workers affected by this tragedy," the team said.

The 61-year-old man becomes the second worker fatality at the Levi's Stadium construction site. On June 11, 63-year-old Donald White was working in an elevator shaft when he was killed by an elevator counterweight.
