Tyrese Ruffin, the two-year-old son of Adrian Peterson, died on Friday Sioux Falls police confirmed. And now prosecutors could seek additional, "more serious charges" against the man who allegedly beat him.

Joseph Robert Patterson, 27, was charged last week with aggravated assault and aggravated battery and now the Associated Press reports that the prosecution could look for "more serious charges" (you can make your own determination) in the death of Peterson's son.

According to the AP, Lincoln County State's Attorney Tom Wollman will review Ruffin's autopsy as well as other information related to the case before deciding about any further charges against Patterson.

Peterson, despite the tragedy, played on Sunday for the Vikings. He issued statements about playing in the game prior to taking the field but has declined to speak about it since the game ended.
