Colts WR Reggie Wayne out for season with torn ACL

By Josh Katzowitz | NFL Writer

Colts coach Chuck Pagano confirmed Monday that receiver Reggie Wayne suffered a torn ACL in the fourth quarter of Indianapolis' win vs. the Broncos.

The 13-year veteran underwent an MRI on Monday morning in order to confirm the injury, but it sounds like Wayne isn't planning to leave the game.

"He'll be back," Pagano said Monday. I know how he's wired... everybody's going to say no way, but after the conversation i just had with him, wait and see."

Wayne was attempting to catch a pass from Andrew Luck, but instead, he stumbled awkwardly before the ball got to him and he went down in a heap without contact from anybody else.

"It was my fault," Luck said. "Terrible throw. We know he's a fighter. We're hoping for the best."

Wayne has played in 189-straight games, the longest streak among any current player.

"We hate to lose anybody," Pagano said. "But this one stinks. You just don't replace guys like 87."
