Bears QB Jay Cutler out at least 4 weeks with groin injury

By Ryan Wilson | CBSSports.com

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler hobbled from the field in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Redskins. A day later, the team announced that Cutler had a muscle tear in his groin and would miss at least four weeks.

It's the latest in a spate of bad news that includes linebacker Lance Briggs reportedly missing 4-6 weeks with a bum shoulder.

Cutler's situation is particularly disheartening because he played well early in the season, leading the Bears to a 3-0 start. He was thriving in coach Marc Trestman's offense and it appeared he had rid himself of many of the bad habits that had plagued him during his NFL career.

Josh McCown will replace Cutler and the Bears (4-3) will have to play some inspired football over the next month to keep pace with the Packers (4-2) in the NFC North.

Chicago will also need to sign another quarterback. We'll go ahead and throw this name out there (and then promptly duck): Tim Tebow.

There's a better chance Tim Jennings takes snaps at QB in Chicago but Trestman has a history with Tebow. We're guessing the Bears go with a more conventional quarterback, which frankly, is probably in everyone's best interests.
