Packers tight end Jermichael Finley was carted off the field on Sunday and ended up spending the night in the intensive care unit. There was serious concern about his short- and long-term health, but good news came in the form of some Finley tweets Monday.
Finley, in a series of messages on Twitter that served as a statement, thanked his family and friends and said that he's "out of the intensive care unit" and now has "full feeling" in his arms and legs.
I want to thank my family, friends, teammates, fans and Packer Nation for the prayers and support over the past 24 hrs. I'm happy to report— Jermichael Finley (@JermichaelF88) October 22, 2013
that I have been transferred out of the intensive care unit and that I have full feeling in my arms and legs. As importantly,
This is obviously fantastic news, but Finley's final tweet really underscored how dangerous his injury was. Finley noted that he was finally able to "walk to and from the shower."

I was able 2 walk to & from the shower today, which was badly needed after yesterday's victory! Thank u again 4 the support, and Go Packers!— Jermichael Finley (@JermichaelF88) October 22, 2013
It's tremendous news that Finley's doing better. He's a long way from getting back on the football field, whether it be this year or any time in the near future. But all of that is secondary to his personal health, and it appears that Finley, following an extremely scary incident, is on the path to recovery.
