Bradley: Chad Henne to start Sunday and 'see where it takes us'

Since Blaine Gabbert injured his hamstring in Week 5, Chad Henne has taken over as the Jaguars starting quarterback. Henne hasn't led Jacksonville to any victories, but with the return of suspended receiver Justin Blackmon, the Jaguars offense is playing better than it has all season, scoring 20 points vs. the Rams in Week 5 and 19 points vs. the Broncos in Week 6.

Plus, after not gaining more than 250 total yards in any of the first four games, the team exploded for at least 350 yards of total offense the past three weeks.

Even though the Jaguars are coming off a disappointing six-point day against the Chargers last week and even though Gabbert has been cleared to practice -- and did so on Wednesday -- Henne will continue on as starter for now and "see where it takes us," coach Gus Bradley said from London.

The "see where it takes us" line has to be worrisome to Gabbert, whose tenure as Jacksonville's starting quarterback already is in grave danger.

"We feel good about what Chad has done the last few weeks,” Bradley said. “We want to continue to build on that."

And you have to wonder if building on that Henne foundation will manage to sink Gabbert and his chances to hold onto his starting job. We're guessing that there's a pretty good chance of that.
