Detroit coach Jim Schwartz confirmed Monday that the 2012 second-round pick who missed the second half of last season with an ACL tear is done for this year after rupturing his Achilles tendon in Sunday's win vs. the Cowboys. Broyles will undergo surgery Tuesday.
On the season, Broyles -- who also tore his ACL during his senior season of college -- had caught eight passes for 85 yards in six games.
"He's working hard," Schwartz said earlier this month. "He's an important part of where we are offensively and he's going to make some plays for us. I think we just have to be patient there."
