It appears as though Raiders defensive coordinator Jason Tarver will have more in common with former Titans owner Bud Adams, Jets coach Rex Ryan and former Titans defensive coordinator Chuck Cecil than Tarver once might have thought.
All flipped the bird in dismay in view of cameras, and all were subsequently fined by the league. Now, after Tarver's display on Sunday, the Raiders said they will punish him. According to ESPN, the league concurs with that and won't punish him on its own.
The guess here is that Tarver will have to pay a decent amount of money in the form of a fine.
In case you missed it, Tarver was displeased with the way the game was being called.
And just for giggles, here's a GIF of some of his display.
On Monday, Tarver said he was sorry.
“I apologize for my action on the sideline of yesterday's game,” Tarver said in a statement, via CSN Bay Area. “It was in the heat of the moment, and I regret drawing attention away from the Raiders players and what they accomplished.”
Indeed, the Raiders beat the Steelers 21-18. Just think what Tarver might have done if Oakland had lost.
