Report: Cowboys WR Dez Bryant may have disk problem in back

Dez Bryant practiced on a limited basis Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's practice with a back injury. And while the Cowboys wide receiver vows to play Sunday night against the Saints, the fear is that Bryant is suffering from a bulging or herniated disk, according to FoxSportsSouthwest.com.

"It's bothering him a little bit off and on," coach Jason Garrett said. "We don't think it's a significant deal."

"C'mon, you know I'm going to play," Bryant added.

But sources close to the team tell FoxSportsSouth.com that it is "a significant deal," and the treatment for a bulging or herniated disk are traction, electrical stimulation and rest.

Bryant, who is having a Pro Bowl season through nine games, is no stranger to back problems. He dealt with the issue last season and has experienced tightness at times this year. But if this is something more than spasms or tightness and Bryant is forced to miss time, it would be bad news for a Cowboys team that holds a one-game lead over the Eagles in the NFC East.
