Scott Tolzien in for Packers after Seneca Wallace groin injury

By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

The Packers quarterback situation is getting pretty desperate and on Sunday afternoon Green Bay was forced to turn to Scott Tolzien after a Seneca Wallace injury.

Wallace, starting the game for the Packers after Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone last week, took a shot from an Eagles defender on Green Bay's first series of the game and injured his groin.

Despite being 5-for-5 on that drive, plenty of people believed Wallace was being benched. That's how innocuous Wallace's injury was.

But he wasn't benched and now finds himself on the sidelines with Rodgers.

The Packers find themselves in a precarious position too. With Wallace and Rodgers hurt, Tolzien is the only active quarterback they have. If he goes down, things would get extremely hairy extremely quickly for Green Bay.

Tolzien, by the way, was a two-year starter for Wisconsin in college and initially signed with the Chargers after going undrafted in 2011. He was on the Packers practice squad before being elevated after Rodgers' injury. He had never attempted a pass in an NFL game prior to Sunday.
