Two days after the Texans released Ed Reed, the 35-year-old safety agreed to terms with the Jets, the team announced Thursday.

Reed spent the first 11 seasons of his career in Baltimore where he racked up Hall of Fame numbers. In the offseason, he signed a three-year, $15 million deal with the Texans, who only needed two months to see that Reed was no where near the player he used to be.

But in New York, Reed will be reunited with former Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, now the Jets head coach. Ryan has a knack for getting the most out of his players but Reed was a shell of himself in Houston.

Two weeks ago, Reed lost his starting job to Shiloh Keo, and through eight games he didn't have an interception or a single pass defended. According to ProFootballFocus.com, Reed ranks 73rd out of 85 safeties this season.
