Report: Ted Wells meets with Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland

No one's facing a hotter seat than Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland. Despite receiving a quiet extension this offseason, the Richie Incognito-Jonathan Martin saga has owner Stephen Ross clearly examining all aspects of his organization. And the GM apparently got grilled by the NFL this week as well.

Jeff Darlington of the NFL Network reports Ireland "spent more than two hours" with NFL investigator Ted Wells answering questions pertaining to the Dolphins bullying scandal.

Wells previously met with Martin and apparently wants answers from the Fins offensive line too.

That's as long, if not longer, than Wells has spoken to anyone else. It's not illogical: Ireland is the boss of the organization (on a day-to-day level) and ultimately it's the boss' job to promote an appropriate work environment.

Not helping Ireland's case is the multitude of rumors seeping out of South Florida. Not only is the Martin hazing case a primetime affair getting national news coverage, but Incognito's reportedly harassed a female Dolphins employee at a team event and also reportedly harassed another member of the staff in inappropriate ways.

Incognito's been suspended indefinitely by the team and is set to have a hearing on Thursday in South Florida after filing a grievance against the Dolphins for his suspension.

Darlington also reports that many believe Wells will remain in South Florida for a few more days. Some players who are reportedly close to both Martin and Incognito claim they haven't heard from Wells yet but hope to do so in the next few days.

Amid all this the Dolphins are fighting for a playoff spot. Good times.
