Matt McGloin made the most of his first NFL start last Sunday. With Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor sidelined with a sprained knee, the undrafted rookie threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns in a victory over the Texans. McGloin was so impressive that coach Dennis Allen announced Wednesday that he would be under center this week when the Raiders face the Titans.
Allen said #Raiders will monitor Pryor's health this week and McGloin “earned” another start— Vic Tafur (@VicTafur) November 20, 2013
Pryor, who still isn't completely healthy, will be monitored the rest of the week to see if he can serve as McGloin's backup. Rookie Tyler Wilson will fill the role of No. 2 quarterback if Pryor remains sidelined.
When asked if McGloin could be the starter beyond Week 12, Allen said “this is a production business.”
Which we take to mean: If McGloin keeps producing, he'll keep playing.
