Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is expected to to miss his third game in a row on Sunday. Coach Marc Trestman announced on Monday that Cutler is unlikley to play this weekend against the Vikings. Cutler hasn't played since suffering a high-ankle sprain in a Week 10 loss to the Lions.

During his radio show last week, Cutler said that he was worried about possible ligament damage in the ankle, but Trestman said on Monday that there's no damage and that Cutler's only dealing with a sprain.

Trestman also said that he's "totally confident" that Cutler will play again at some point this season.

With Cutler out, backup quarterback Josh McCown is expected to make his third straight start and fourth overall of the season. McCown is 2-1 in three games this year, including a 42-21 loss to St. Louis on Sunday. Although the Bears lost to the Rams, McCown wasn't exactly the biggest problem for Chicago in the game. The 34-year-old quarterback threw for 352 yards and two touchdowns, but he did lose a fumble in the fourth quarter that Rams defensive end Robert Quinn returned for a touchdown.

Despite the loss to St. Louis, the Bears (6-5) are still tied with the Lions for first place in the NFC North.
