With the Seahawks in need of cornerback depth, they've signed Perrish Cox to a contract, ESPN is reporting.

Entering this week's game vs. the Saints -- a game in which I think New Orleans will cover the +6.5 line -- the Seahawks will be without Brandon Browner (who's injured and reportedly facing a one-year suspension for a substance abuse violation) and Walter Thurmond (who's about to begin serving a four-game suspension for the same NFL policy violation as Browner).

Cox only accumulated two tackles in nine games with the 49ers this season (while playing only 69 snaps on the season) before San Francisco released him earlier this month.

There had been speculation that the Seahawks would try to sign the retired Antoine Winfield, but CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported that Winfield was staying retired for now.
