Christian Ponder suffers concussion, Matt Cassel new Vikings QB

By Josh Katzowitz | NFL Writer

Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder suffered a concussion in the first half of the contest against the Bears, and he's out for the rest of the day.

Matt Cassel has been inserted into the game, but considering No. 3 quarterback Josh Freeman is inactive for Week 13, it's unclear what would happen if Cassel has to leave the game.

On the day, Ponder went 3 for 8 for 40 yards, and he was booed by his home crowd throughout the first half. But he had to leave the game after he got sandwiched by Shea McClellin and James Anderson after passing from the pocket in the second quarter.
