Faced with the prospect of potentially starting newly-signed quarterback Caleb Hanie or giving the ball instead to a player in Alex Tanney who's never thrown an NFL pass, the Browns got some good news Friday when coach Rob Chudzinski said Jason Campbell has been cleared to play and will start Sunday vs. the Patriots.

Chudzinski told reporters that Campbell, who's been recovering from a Week 12 concussion, has had two good days of practices.

"He looks sharp and hasn't missed a beat," Chudzinski said.

But Brandon Weeden -- who suffered a concussion last week -- still hasn't been cleared to play and will be unavailable for Sunday. As for who is listed as the No. 2 quarterback, Chudzinski said he's unsure at this point but will have an answer by Sunday.

Since taking over as the starter, Campbell has gone 1-3 and completed 56.9 percent of his passes for 933 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions.
