Bears-Eagles flexed to Sunday night over Pats-Ravens in Week 16

Rookie head coaches Chip Kelly and Marc Trestman have the Eagles and Bears on the brink of making the postseason. And they'll have a critical matchup in prime-time in Week 16 as the NFL flexed that game into Sunday night.

Philadelphia and Chicago, originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon on FOX, will now air on Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC as the featured Sunday Night Football game.

Somewhat surprisingly, the NFL declined to leave the Patriots-Ravens game in that slot, removing that matchup of two current (and likely?) playoff teams from the Sunday night spot.

Instead, Tom Brady and Joe Flacco will do battle on CBS at 4:25 p.m. ET. It's quite possible, too, that the Patriots will have clinched a playoff spot by the time Week 16 rolls around. They simply need to win or tie this week to win the AFC East and could also clinch a playoff spot if the Ravens lose in Week 15.

The flex decision is a little surprising from a star power standpoint, but Bears-Eagles should provide plenty of offensive fireworks for folks watching at home.
