Terry Bradshaw hates the idea of a cold-weather Super Bowl

Former Steelers quarterback, four-time Super Bowl champion and current FOX Sports NFL studio analyst Terry Bradshaw loathes the idea that come February, the Super Bowl will be played in MetLife Stadium, located in balmy East Rutherford, NJ.

Bradshaw's not alone in his thinking, but let's see if he can elucidate his reasons.

“We don't want to see a cold Super Bowl,” he said Wednesday during an appearance on WFAN. “We don't want to see what we saw in Philadelphia (this past weekend)."

OK, you already lost us.

How could you not love what we saw in Philadelphia Sunday? We went into great detail about why snow and the Super Bowl don't necessarily make for an adversarial relationship.

Clearly, Bradshaw wants no part of that conversation.

“Thank you commissioner, thank you Super Bowl committee for putting us in New York," Bradshaw said sarcastically. “And we all know why we're in New York; it's because they were paid for that stupid stadium in New Jersey … By the way, not a gorgeous stadium either.

“It's freakin' outside in New York; are you kidding me? Not even New York -- New Jersey. It's not like Minnesota; it's a dome. It's not like it's Detroit; it's a dome. It's not like it's Indy; it's a dome. I don't want it to be bad, cause I'm there. I want it to be nice, but I don't think you should be putting Super Bowls in northern cities in the winter time.”

Now we're getting somewhere. This has less to do with the game and more to do with Bradshaw's ability to enjoy it. Got it.

"You should be in Florida or California or Arizona, where there is no excuses,” the Hall of Famer continued. “What if the Saints make it there?... Teams that run the football will have a bigger advantage than teams that throw the football. What if we get two passing teams? What if they get Denver there? What if it's pouring down snow? You get a bad game."

It is with some irony that Bradshaw, who spent his career in Pittsburgh, would be whining about inclement weather since, you know, every season very important games are decided in cold, sometimes snowy conditions. They're called the conference championship games. It's football. Settle down.

Of course, if it wasn't the conditions, it would be something else. Back in September, Bradshaw was belly-aching about the NFL in London.

"Nobody cares anything about that game," he said at the time. "The players don't want to go. You can't enjoy it. Now preseason, OK, have some fun. It's regular season, so yeah, I don't get it -- never will."

God help us all if Roger Goodell ever gets a Super Bowl in London AND it snows.
