Packers' Aaron Rodgers out for Sunday's game vs. Cowboys

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has been sidelined with a collarbone injury since early November, took some reps with the first-team offense at Thursday's practice but coach Mike McCarthy said no decision would be made on Rodgers' status until Friday.

Well, here we are and ... Rodgers has been ruled out against the Cowboys on Sunday.

It will be the sixth game he has missed since going down in the first quarter of the Nov. 4 matchup with the Bears. The Packers were 5-2 heading into that game and have gone 1-4-1 since.

There was speculation earlier this month that Rodgers could be shut down for the rest of the season, especially if the team fell out of the playoff race. As it stands, Green Bay is 10th in the NFC, four places out of the final wild-card spot. If the Packers lose to the Cowboys, it's reasonable to think that Rodgers might sit out the final two games against the Steelers and Bears since there probably won't be much to play for beyond pride.

Matt Flynn, meanwhile, will make his fourth start of the season for Green Bay.
