Minnesota quarterback Matt Cassel threw for 382 yards and two touchdowns in the Vikings stunning win over Philadelphia on Sunday, a performance that has earned him the starting job for Minnesota's final two regular season games, according to ESPN.com.

Barring injury, Cassel will be the Vikings starter in Week 16 against Cincinnati and in Week 17 against Detroit. Cassel and the Vikings could play a major spoiler role in those final two weeks, both the Bengals and Lions are in the thick of the playoff hunt, but neither team has clinched a postseason berth.

The 382-yards Cassel threw for against the Eagles was the fourth-highest total of his career. Besides the two passing touchdowns Cassel had against Philadelphia, he also tacked on a rushing touchdown in the Vikings 48-30 win.

Cassel has made four starts so far this season for Minnesota and the Vikings are 2-2 in those games. Cassel led the Vikings to their first win of the year in Week 4 against Pittsburgh.

The Vikings have used a total of three starting quarterbacks this season, including Cassel. Christian Ponder has started nine games (2-6-1) for Minnesota. Josh Freeman, who the Vikings signed in October, has made one start this season (0-1).
