Peyton Manning throws 50th TD pass, tying Tom Brady record

By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

Peyton Manning's just one touchdown pass away from temporary immortality. The Broncos quarterback tied Tom Brady's record for touchdown passes in a single season on Sunday, throwing his 50th touchdown pass of the season.

Manning hit Eric Decker on a 20-yard bomb to put the Broncos up 17 points over the Texans and likely lock down a win in Week 16's matchup.

Manning now has a little over a full game to break Brady's record. It's a pretty good bet that he'll end up throwing a touchdown pass in the next four-and-change quarters. Manning also ended up crossing over the 5,000 yard marker for the first time in his career.

As you can clearly see from the graphic, Brady broke Manning's original record in 2007. Safe to say that Manning would like it back.
