Just before kickoff of Week 17's action we noted that there was a lot of smoke surrounding rumors that Rob Chudzinski's job could be in trouble.
The Browns were naturally asked for a comment on the rumors and waited til later to announce that they wouldn't be focusing on "the game today" and wouldn't worry about Chud's status til later.
"Our focus is on the game today," the Browns said in a statement. "We will not discuss any evaluation of the season until this upcoming week."
So ... yeah.
That's not exactly a denial, is it? If Chud was locked to come back in 2014, the Browns would -- or should -- issue a denial.
Instead they declined to speak about Chud's status with the team until later in the week. They've already lost the game to the Steelers in Week 17, 20-7 and Cleveland never really looked anything but lifeless.
There's bound to be plenty of life around Pittsburgh this week though, given the Browns willingness to not deny that where there's smoke there's also fire.
