Report: Texas A&M's Manziel, Evans to leave for NFL after bowl game

By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

No huge surprise here, but both Johnny Manziel and Mike Evans -- the talented quarterback and wideout for the Texas A&M Aggies -- are set to leave college football for the NFL following the Chick-Fil-A Bowl on New Year's Eve.

Gil Brandt of (aka the "godfather of the combine") reported on Twitter on Monday morning that the players are leaving A&M for the NFL.

The Aggies finished 8-4 in the 2013 regular season and 4-4 in the SEC, a somewhat disappointing season given their success in 2012.

But Manziel shook off a whole bag of offseason concerns to reboost his draft stock.

Both Rob Rang and Dane Brugler of have Manziel going in the top 10 of the 2014 NFL Draft. Rang sends Manziel to the Jaguars with the No. 3 overall pick and Brugler sends John F. Football to the Vikings at No. 8.

Both guys send Evans, a beastly 6-foot-5 target, to the Ravens at No. 18 in their latest mock drafts.

A big performance against Duke in what is likely the final game of the pair's college career could certainly vault them both even higher.
