NFL Coaching Rumor Roundup: Jason Garrett officially safe

Another day, another set of rumors to keep up with. There are still a few jobs that could come open -- most notably the Dolphins, Raiders and Titans -- and there are six teams with vacancies now.

Below we'll keep up with all the latest news, rumors and gossip surrounding possible interviews, hires and firings.

Jason Garrett's the big story, with Jerry Jones announcing Tuesday the Cowboys would be "going forward" with Garrett in 2014.

Art Briles said he hasn't heard from the Redskins but he did admit that he'd be intrigued by the NFL if someone came calling, though he wouldn't "pursue" it. Confused? Us too.

Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott will interview with the Redskins over the weekend, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports.

Sure is sounding like Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride could be out in New York. Not too shocking considering Eli Manning's awful 2013, but how will it sit with Tom Coughlin?

Jets GM John Idzik declined to discuss Rex Ryan's contract situation on Tuesday. Sounds like Rex might be getting a one-year extension if that's what he wants. No long-term commitment yet.
10:15 a.m. ET
It's officially official, we think. The Cowboys are "going forward" with Jason Garrett Jerry Jones said on 105.3 the Fan in Dallas on Tuesday morning.
9:30 a.m. ET
The Redskins plan on interviewing current Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. Bevell's been a hot name -- Pete Carroll said they'd been contacted by six teams about Bevell and Seahawks DC Dan Quinn.

Jon Gruden says he doesn't want to be considered for any of the current head coaching jobs out there. CURRENT JOBS YOU SAY? Just kidding but maybe he doesn't hate the Raiders job.
