Patriots coach Bill Belichick secretly has a great sense of humor though wouldn't know it to look at him at, say, a press conference (see above; that face doesn't exactly scream "COMEDY!").
We mention this because we wouldn't be surprised if Belichick gets a good laugh out of recent comments from Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton ... right before he implements "Operation Beatdown" for Saturday night's Colts-Pats AFC Divisional matchup.
On Wednesday, Hamilton hinted at the 2007 Spygate scandal. Specifically, he was asked about his time as a Jets assistant from 2003-2005, and that question led to this answer:
"I do know for a fact that it was always a 60-minute chess match," Hamilton said, via the Indianapolis Star. "It was ever-changing looks and disguises and they always tend to find ways to figure out some of your signals."
Make of this what you will.
To his credit, Hamilton also had laudatory things to say about the Patriots coach.
"It's truly an honor to have an opportunity to field a team and compete against the likes of Coach Belichick who will go down as one of the greatest coaches in the history of the National Football League," he said.
