CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Panthers struggled out of the gates on offense against the 49ers and missed a #RiverboatRon shot at a touchdown when they couldn't convert a 4th and goal from the one. But the defense held the Niners, Carolina got the ball back and Cam Newton took advantage.

Newton threw a gorgeous strike to Steve Smith who was covered by Tarell Brown. Or, more accurately, not covered by Brown:

Smith, as you might know, was questionable to play on Sunday with a knee injury. In case you didn't know that he was fine, Smith would like to remind you:

Smith hasn't been shy about jawing to just about everyone in the stadium. 89. Bottom line.
