NEW YORK -- The hardware keeps piling up for Peyton Manning and after his record-breaking 2013 season, Manning is now the all-time record-holder for MVP trophies, winning his fifth on Saturday night at the NFL Honors.

Manning also won the 2013 NFL Offensive Player of the Year award after throwing for an NFL record 5,477 passing yards and an NFL record 55 touchdown passes.

The Broncos quarterback helped produce two receivers with more than 1,200 yards in Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas. Wes Welker and Julius Thomas also topped 700 yards in the Broncos aerial assault on NFL defenses.

Manning was named the 2013 CBSSports.com's MVP on Friday evening and like I said at the time, it was a no brainer. He was the only viable choice for the voters.

He was actually the only candidate too. There was no build up to the announcement -- Aaron Rodgers and Joe Montana handed out the hardware -- with the NFL's montage featuring Manning as the only candidate.

It's a cool moment and Peyton said in a video aired (he didn't attend the NFL Honors for obvious reasons) that he's "humbled." But any amount of trophies from 2013 is probably irrelevant if Manning doesn't end up holding the Lombardi on Sunday evening.
